Gramsy and Pops come to visit!

Out go one pair of grandparents, in come another.  The Tuckers are in full effect this Memorial Day Weekend, trying to brainwash Noah into becoming a Miami Heat fan.

Pops debriefing with Noah on Dwayne Wade's performance in last night's game.

Gramsy showing off her baby soothing skills while also playing 11 separate Words with Friends games on her iPad.

Thank you for all of your help,  especially for picking up this guy's byproducts.

Later Grandpa Tom

Bye Bye Grandpa Tom! Thanks for the good memories and all of your hard work.

First Porch Session

While Tucker returned to work in his windowless office, Julie, Grandpa Tom, and Nana Sue  enjoyed the sunny weather on our porch with Noah. Here are some pictures.

Note Otis in the background poised to attack Noah's enemies.

Friends with Tots

Our friends from Seattle Lizzie and Sid visited us with their kids Max and Eddie on Saturday.  Thank you so much for the food you brought down from Seattle and the presents! Leave it to Lizzie (and Sid) to rear two children, cook a meal for us and bring it from Seattle. I can barely even make a turkey sandwich for myself these days, let alone transport it across the State border.

Grandparents to the Rescue

Julie's parents Nana Sue and Grandpa Tom arrived this week to help us out with Noah. We appreciate all of their hard work, they have basically acted as our indentured servants.

We think Grandpa Tom sleeps more than Noah. Here is a picture of both of them nodding off.

Nana Sue holding Noah while protecting herself from Noah's post meal habit of projectile vomit.

Still cute!

Eyes Open

At almost two weeks old Noah is starting to open his eyes more and smile.  We are looking forward to having both sets of grandparents in town over the next couple of weeks as well as Julie's college friends.  Julie is no longer taking her pain medication and is able to move around a little more.

A special thank you to Naomi, Erica, Cathy, and our neighbors Chris and Susan for bringing us delicious food over the last two weeks.

First and Second Bath

We bathed Noah for the first and second time this weekend. The pictures did not come out very good because he put up a fight.

The second bath came shortly after the first as he urinated on himself and us right after we bathed him.

A Classy Outing

Mom and Dad took Noah on a sophisticated outing Saturday evening. We treated ourselves to a couple glasses of over priced champagne (alleged notes of rose petal on the palette) at a new wine shop down the street while listening to a jazz band.

First Successful Lunch Outing

Noah took a trip with us to our local coffee shop where Julie had been ordering decaf espresso drinks for the last nine months.

Noah loved the sling, but probably did not love the food that Tucker dropped on his face. In the picture below Tucker disciplined him with a small pickle.

This was our first successful lunch outing with Noah, we had a an "unsuccessful" outing yesterday that we need not discuss here.

Yes he is still very cute.

First Days at home

Baby Noah has not led too stressful of a life in his first few days at home. We have actually had to wake him up to feed more often than he has awakened us.  I'm sure that will change soon.  Julie is doing well but gradually realizing the limitations created by the c section.

Noah has sprayed both of us in the face multiple times, and we are getting used to his marksmanship.  He is also a lot stronger than expected so when he is really fussy one of us has to restrain him to get the diapering done. I can't imagine what his kicks felt like while he was in Julie's stomach. Thanks for taking one for the team Julie!

Tonight he will be one week old.

Final Day in the Hospital and Trip Home

After five days in the hospital we were eager to get home. All of the nurses and staff at Providence were great, and we had a large window to see how nice the weather was our entire stay.  Perfect timing!

Noah Bernard Tucker born 5/1/13 !

Noah arrived on May Day 2013 at approximately 10:30 p.m.  He is a wonderfully sweet little guy.

Noah ended up being delivered via C Section.  He weighed in at an unexpectedly large 9 pounds and 3 ounces. The doctors were astounded by his girth. They announced  that it was time to take a picture because our son was about to be born.  Its pretty clear that they underestimated how difficult it would be to pry him from Julie's womb because it took a couple of minutes (felt like hours) after their dramatic announcement to finally deliver him.
